Kevin Furtado is a vice president at Fidelity Institutional® (FI), the Fidelity Investments business that offers financial professionals and institutions access to the investment, technology, and platform solutions they need to service their clients and grow their businesses. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

 

In this role, Mr. Furtado works within the Institutional Insurance Subaccount Sales division covering New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. He is responsible for the distribution of Fidelity subaccounts, including Fidelity VIP portfolios and FI sub-advised portfolios through various insurance companies’ variable annuity and variable life contracts. He currently partners with insurance wholesalers, financial advisors, broker-dealer insurance coordinators, and registered investment advisors. He regularly presents Fidelity’s investment and portfolio construction insight, capital market intelligence, and thought capital often focusing on the critical components of retirement income planning.

 

Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Furtado was responsible for the distribution of Fidelity subaccounts, including Fidelity VIP portfolios and FI sub-advised portfolios through various insurance companies’ variable annuity and variable life contracts in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Mr. Furtado joined Fidelity in August 2000 and has since focused on partnering with financial advisors, broker-dealer insurance coordinators, and registered investment advisors.

 

Mr. Furtado earned his bachelor of science degree in operations management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and his master of business administration in finance from Bryant University. He also holds the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designations, as well as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 63 licenses.
